I am a passionate advocate for marine ecosystems and their critical role in our environment, especially the South Florida community. I am eager to be a part of this organization and start an Internship that will further my commitment to environmental stewardship through hands-on experience and interdisciplinary learning. My current active involvement in marine conservation involve being a facilitator of a workshop in spanish that educates our underserved community about sea turtles called, Amigos de las Tortugas a workshop created by Inwater Research an organization in Clearwater, Fl. I am also working along with MISS Science as a Gill Guardian Ambassador and member. I have personally taken upon myself to have completed a citizen science course in tidepool biology and currently working on a Florida Master Naturalist course for coastal restoration and the Miami Waterkeep Adult Ambassador program, have equipped me with a strong foundation in ecological principles, sustainability practices, and scientific research methods.
Growing up in Miami, Fl, I developed an early appreciation for our environment's beauty and complexity. I have always been a strong advocate since childhood for protecting our ocean environment. I have dedicated myself to understanding marine ecosystems and exploring ways to protect them.
I am particularly drawn to this internship because of its emphasis on both scientific research and community engagement. I believe that effective conservation must bridge the gap between data and public action. Through this program, I hope to expand my technical skills in data collection, while also learning strategies to communicate environmental issues in an accessible and motivating way.
