I am an undergraduate research assistant at the University of Alberta and a student at The King’s University where I am pursuing a BSc in Psychology with a minor in Biology. I am currently a research assistant at the UofA studying toxicology and zebrafish development and behaviour – a position I earned through an Indigenous Sciences Internship. I am passionate about the arts, specifically photography, and love to capture the outdoors through my lens!
I love marine-based science, especially orcas and the social behaviours of cetaceans off the coast of Vancouver Island. I am also fascinated by Sea Wolves in the Great Bear Rainforest and how they interact with their coastal environment. My experiences with local wildlife conservation groups and the provincial wildlife federation have only enhanced my drive to protect and speak up for animals and ecosystems that cannot speak for themselves. As an Indigenous woman, I also feel deeply connected to the ocean and the land. My heritage inspires my work and reminds me that caring for the environment is part of who we are, and who we must continue to be
