I’m a future MS student with a strong passion for social and environmental justice. My future research will focus on environmental justice within coastal communities. Currently, I’m involved in Boise State’s vertically integrated project program, Project SCIENTIA, where we develop science communication materials on environmental topics for Spanish-speaking audiences. This includes translating research, creating educational content such as videos, blog posts, and infographics, and gaining valuable experience in environmental outreach and intercultural engagement.
Outside of my academic pursuits, I enjoy a wide variety of activities—rock climbing, scuba diving, camping, skiing, reading, gardening, and traveling. I strive to engage in these activities with the goal of promoting diversity and inclusion, particularly within the worlds of scuba diving and rock climbing.
A Boise native with Afro-Caribbean roots from the Bahamas, I discovered my love for the ocean at an early age. This connection led me to become a certified scuba instructor and a dedicated advocate for marine conservation. I’ve had the privilege of teaching scuba diving in Komodo National Park in Indonesia and on the Malaysian island of Pom Pom in Borneo, where I led a range of scientific dives. I’m always in a pursuit of learning, evolving and working towards making positive contributions to keep this planet healthy!
