First off, I love the ocean! My passion for the natural sciences has driven my 25-year career as a marine biologist in research and environmental education. For the past decade, I've taught courses in Biology, Marine Biology, Conservation Biology, Ichthyology and Fish Health, Oceanography, and Environmental Sustainability, emphasizing the critical connection between human actions and planetary health. I'm also deeply committed to encouraging young girls and women to pursue careers in marine and environmental sciences. On a personal note, I'm married with adult children ages 20 and 18, and a 16-year-old, and we have a wonderful rescue pup. In my free time, I love to explore the natural world, visit beaches, and practice my hand-lettering and calligraphy. I also enjoy reading and relaxing with classical or Lo-Fi music.
