Salisbury, Maryland, USA
I’m a PhD student in Natural Resources at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES), deeply passionate about environmental sustainability, fisheries science, and the advancement of women in STEM.
My current research explores the Population and Trophic Dynamics of Bay Anchovy in the Maryland Coastal Bays (MCBs). I study how environmental factors influence fish recruitment, growth, movement, and food web interactions, using advanced tools.
Over the years, I’ve grown professionally through hands-on fieldwork, ecological modeling, data analysis, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Earlier in my career, I received recognition through the CORAF/WECARD program supported by the World Bank for my work on integrated pig–fish farming while at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. I’ve also participated in initiatives focused on WASH (Water, Sanitation & Hygiene) and RSWN mentoring, reflecting my broader interest in development and community health.
I’m continuously working to expand my global impact as a researcher, speaker, and mentor. Outside of academics, I’m committed to blending science with purpose—whether that means inspiring women in science, aligning my work with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), or sharing “real science stories where boots meet the bay.”
Above all, I’m a devoted mom, striving every day to balance family, research, and faith with grace and determination. Thank You
